Kansas City National Electrical Contractors

The Kansas City Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association Inc., (KC NECA) was founded on August 5, 1929 at the Kansas City Club, Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas City Chapter, NECA was formally chartered by the National Electrical Contractors Association on August 10, 1929. At this time the Kansas City Chapter was know as the Electragists Chapter of Greater Kansas City.

The term "Electragist" is rarely ever encountered now, but at this time it was used to describe a person or company who installed electrical apparatus and sold electrical goods. Today, electrical contractors design and install state-of-the-art electrical and voice-data-video (VDV) systems for commercial, industrial, residential, institutional, and governmental used around the world.

The Kansas City Chapter is the fourth oldest chartered chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association, which is presently headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland -- www.necanet.org.
